Ascending and descending verses in the Book of Revelation


The Book of Revelation can be read from beginning to end .   .  . or from the end to the beginning.
And when the two versions are compared side by side they often coincide in meaning.

The first column starts with verse 1 and goes thru to Chapter 22:21 in order.
There are all together 404 verses in the Book of Revelation.
The second column begins with final verse Rev. 22:21( verse 404 excluding chapter divisions) and works back to verse 1.

       1.       
NIV Revelation  1:1     The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,
                            Revelation 22:21           
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God's people. Amen.

who testifies to everything he saw-- that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.
And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne,
I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.

and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father-- to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
"I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."

Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.

I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,
"Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.

which said: "Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea."
Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy."

I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,
Then he told me, "Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near.

and among the lampstands was someone "like a son of man," dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest.
But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book. Worship God!"

His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.
I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me
